This is a true story of how I managed to get rid of my gout within a day. By following what I did you may be able to do the same but, of course, everybody is different and you may take longer. On the other hand, you may get rid of your gout much faster!
Before I tell you how I got rid of my gout so fast, it'll help a lot if we first go over the causes of gout...
Gout symptoms -- redness, swelling, stiffness, inflammation, heat when touched, and horrible, horrible pain -- are actually the result of uric acid crystals forming in your joints, usually the big toe, but any joint really.
These crystals form when you have higher than normal uric acid levels in your body. This state of affairs can happen when your kidneys are unable to process and excrete excess uric acid out of your body effectively enough. And this can occur when your kidneys aren't up to scratch, or, your body is producing too much uric acid for your kidneys to deal with.
So back to how I got rid of my gout in a day...
I have to confess that I had been pre-warned about a range of natural ways to eliminate gout. My brother-in-law had come across an online gout report that he had used to get rid of his latest gout attack, and was raving about it. So he e-mailed me about it. Although I didn't have a gout attack at the time, I was a regular sufferer for years, so I downloaded the report for reference.
Anyway, this day I woke up in the early morning hours with excruciating pain in my right foot. Because I was so used to these I knew it was gout and knew I had to deal with it as soon as possible. I had already picked out 3 natural remedies talked about in the gout report that I thought could be effective. So I decided to give them a go...
(1) Water. This first one I knew about but hadn't taken seriously enough, until then. This tip was all about drinking lots of water to help your kidneys flush out uric acid. It is so simple, and many folks know about it, but don't drink nearly enough. I followed the report's advice which was to drink 10 to 12 8oz glasses of water every day.
(2) Cherries. The second natural remedy I used, in parallel with the water, was to eat 30 to 40 cherries every 4 hours. These have super anti-inflammatory properties and can also help to reduce uric acid levels. I was lucky that they were in season, but I also knew that I could have used cherry juice from a health food store.
(3) Baking Soda. The final remedy came as a big surprise: to drink a mixture of baking soda and water. This can help dissolve painful uric acid crystals and helps your body to excrete uric acid more easily.
I mixed 1/2 teaspoon of the baking soda in a large glass of water (8oz) and mixed thoroughly. I drank one glass that morning and another glass every 2 to 4 hours or so, then finally a glass just before bed. I made sure I didn't take more than 4 teaspoons of baking soda in that day. I also stopped taking salt.
What I did notice was that gradually during the day the pain started to decrease. And by the following morning the pain and swelling had sufficiently abated that I could put on a sock and shoe without any problems, and get about. To all intents and purposes my attack had gone.
Now, according to the report, the baking soda remedy has been known to work within 2 hours. This didn't happen with me, but mine certainly abated withing 24 hours, which was a first for me. I guess a lot depends on the person and how bad the gout is.
But I also knew that if I continued to suffer recurring attacks I was in real danger of suffering really bad stuff like permanent joint damage and kidney problems. And this was addressed within the report. So I decided to follow some of the gout prevention tips in there. And, I have to say that I haven't had an attack of gout since!
